holiday Archives – Mummascribbles

Despite my last post being about how exhausting it is holidaying with kids, we did of course have a wonderful holiday last week! We went to Diss in Norfolk with the other half’s family and the in law’s had hired us a gorgeous holiday home to stay in.

I’d seen it online but the photos did not do it justice! There was a huge kitchen, a side room with a pool table, a big sitting room, five bedrooms and a swimming pool, all set within the most stunning grounds with gorgeous views!

The first couple of days were pretty quiet, opting to stay at the house with all the family having fun in the pool.

On the Sunday, my father in law had arranged for a couple of ladies to come in with a load of food that they cooked on the BBQ for us all! It was fantastic – they even did the washing up despite us having a dishwasher!

On the Monday we were supposed to be heading to Great Yarmouth with a friend of mine who lives nearby but sadly that couldn’t happen. We’d then planned to meet the bro in law & family down there once they were back from the doctors with our nephew who had suspected (and then confirmed) croup, but they got back too late so it was just us. We had lots of fun on the rides in Joyland…

Zach then had his first ever donkey ride and we ate fish and chips for dinner.

On Tuesday we stayed in while everyone went out. The dog was with us on holiday so we’d said that we’d stay home with her. It was nice to have a chill out day with just Zachary although he was climbing the walls by the end of it. Even with all that space to run around!

On Wednesday we’d decided to head to nearby Bury St Edmunds. I’d had a little look and it’s a historical market town and luckily has a market on Wednesday’s with around 80 stalls. I do love a good market town and I’d also discovered a brilliant looking park. As soon as we arrived there we fell in love! The town is beautiful with so many shops, all with their original fronts and a bustling market that sold everything you could need. I’d been looking for ages for a fruit bowl and suddenly I stumbled across a ceramics seller who was selling some real hand painted beauties! After spending ages trying to decide which one to buy, I went for this one and it is just gorgeous on our dining table

It was soon time for lunch so we found a few restaurants and chose one called Bill’s. When we walked in, it was the most gorgeous restaurant ever! With a little section selling all of their homemade lemonades, jams and other lovely things, a seating area was beautiful. And the food, oh it was scrumptious!

After lunch we headed to the park where Zach had a ball. They had so much there including a play area, a sand and water area, a treehouse and lots of historical ruins.

They also had some truly beautiful gardens and a stunning cathedral for us adults to appreciate!

Just at that point, it started to rain so we dashed to the car park and headed back. We were so impressed with Bury St Edmonds that the whole way back we were talking about how we could very happily live there. Maybe one day!

On Thursday we headed back to Great Yarmouth. We visited a lovely little miniature village which zach loved because there was lots of little trains moving around!

They also had a little mini golf of which he couldn’t quite get the hang of!

They also had a tea rooms there so we grabbed a spot of lunch and I saved some space for a scrumptious cream tea

While we were there, we met up with some of my family who happened to be holidaying in Yarmouth. My aunt, uncle, cousin and her two daughters joined us for some fun on the beach. The last time I saw my cousin I was 7 months pregnant and neither she or her girls had met Zach. They got on instantly

On Friday it was time to go home but we managed to squeeze in one more adventure, probably saving the best till last. Bressingham steam museum wasn’t far and it would have been wrong to not take Zach to a place full of steam train rides! He was in absolute heaven – it’s just a shame it was miserable weather.

They even had a magical carousel ride which we all loved

And that was the end of the holiday. We drove home in absolutely appalling weather and have spent the weekend trying to get back to our usual routine. We did have such a wonderful week, I was very sad that our family time was over and that work has started again.

Do you remember holidays before children?

The ones in your twenties with your friends that were full of booze, getting dolled up at 10pm and heading on out for a night of cocktails, dancing and maybe a spot of 2am skinny dipping as you pass the beach on your way back to your villa?

The ones with your other half where you had lazy mornings, days laying round the pool and days out exploring the area…if you could be bothered to even leave your apartment?!

I have had both of those types of holidays over the years but only a couple with my other half before we became pregnant.

The first was a long weekend away in Canterbury. We explored the beautiful town, we drove down to the seaside and relaxed on the beach and on one night, over a bottle of wine and a game of scrabble (which I won!), we decided to try for a baby!

Our next holiday was the following year when I was five months pregnant! We went to Turkey and we laid around the pool all day, every day! It was around 37 degrees every day and that was up in the mountains – I just couldn’t take the heat! We did wander down to the nearest town on one day but it was even hotter down there and I lasted about an hour before I needed to get back up to the pool! It was a holiday of pure relaxation. Wonderful.

And then came holidays with Zach! We’ve had two this year – our Eurocamp holiday and the one we’ve just returned from, the big family holiday to Norfolk. We had a big family holiday two years ago and it was nowhere near as hectic as this one was! There was one less child then and Zach was only just starting to walk!

I don’t know why I thought this year would be the same – with an extra child thrown into the mix, meaning four children of ages 6, 3, 2 (almost 3!), and 9 months, why oh why did we think that maybe, just maybe we may get a lay in?

On the very first morning, we were awoken at 6.30am by the three eldest bundling into our room and trying to drag us downstairs! Knowing that the other half’s cousins were downstairs sleeping on a blow up bed in the front room, we managed to keep them upstairs for another hour before succumbing to their demands at 7.30. Down there, we found my sister in law feeding the baby!

The next day followed suit.

Then our nephew got croup. The poor little thing was coughing horrifically, vomiting through coughing and not sleeping well at all. So, we switched bedrooms. Originally the three older kids were sharing a room. Suddenly the oldest niece was in with her mum and baby sister, our nephew slept in what was our original bedroom with his dad and we ended up in two pushed together beds in with Zach (who was thankfully in his own daybed which he loved).

When we were in the original bedroom, the three kids would wake up and spend about half an hour in theirs playing amongst themselves. Even if this was slamming the shower door together to make a big bang, it meant we could at least keep our eyes closed a little longer. Once we were in with Zach, we’d hear the click of the door and in came the kids to see him! We couldn’t keep our eyes closed then and we were once again trying to keep them upstairs so as not to wake the whole house up!

In fact, it was Friday morning, that was the only morning that Zach slept in! Our nephew did peep his head in but thankfully realised Zach was still asleep, quickly left and I went back for a snooze! Zach woke up at 7.45 – it was bliss!

The only other morning I had a lay in was on Thursday because I woke up feeling like crap after the whole house was slowly coming down with illness! My lovely other half got up with the kids that day!

It was the same when we were in France on our Eurocamp holiday – Zach was up really early every single morning and we were left exhausted!

Of course, once all the kiddies were downstairs, it was time for breakfast chaos! As the sister in law was always up feeding the baby, we took on breakfast duties for all three kids! They rarely wanted the same thing each morning so it’d be porridge for one, Weetabix for another and coco pops for the last. Meanwhile I’d be making a cup of tea for myself and the sister in law and sneakily eating chocolate bicccies in the kitchen area! Well I needed the extra energy!

Then there was the keeping an eye on the kids, making sure they weren’t fighting, running off out the gate, playing nicely and not annoying the dog! It was a week of being fully switched on to everything that was happening around us!

img_8017-225x300-6127964

Then followed the bedtimes each night. We tried to keep Zach to as best a routine as we could so as not to completely mess him up when we returned home. Of course, sometimes it was impossible, especially when he fell asleep on both journeys back from Great Yarmouth that was an hour and a half drive! And he’d already napped on the way there. On those days, he wasn’t asleep until 10pm!

And of course, those day trips were pretty knackering for us too! With me having to do all the driving and then the constant wandering around with pretty much the only time spent sitting down being in the car and for lunches, we got pretty tired!

Of course it was wonderful, especially spending time with the family and seeing Zach with his cousins.

But I couldn’t help but sit there thinking back to those peace filled holidays pre-Zach when we’d return feeling relaxed and refreshed rather than feeling that we need another holiday! Thank god it’s the weekend and not straight back into work! It’s going to be a while before we have one of those relaxing ones again! Especially if we throw another child into the mix sometime in the near future!

How are your holidays now you’ve got children? Do you long for those relaxing round the pool days?

My out of office is on.

For the next TEN days it is all about this boy!

Good god I am excited!

TEN DAYS!

Ten days of laughter, tears, cuddles, tantrums, fun and misery! I’m not stupid…I don’t think it’s going to be completely blissful!

But it’s ten days where I get to be mummy and the other half gets to be daddy and neither of us have to commute or work or do nursery runs.

Tomorrow lunchtime we are off on holiday.

Off to a little place called Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. We are off to the most gorgeous house that is huge and has a huge amount of land to run around on and an indoor swimming pool to slash around in.

Of course, we are not going alone. Oh no, we couldn’t have afforded that! My wonderful in law’s are taking us. And not just us! There are going to be six adults, four children and a dog! That’s made up of us, the parent in law’s and the other half’s brother and his brood. I believe we are also being joined at some point by his aunt and uncle!

We did this two years ago and it was wonderful. Zach was only just starting to walk; he was still very young. It is going to be oh so different this time. And there’s another baby in the loop since then. Our lovely little niece.

We get to spend a whole week with the lovely family that we just don’t get to see enough of. Zach gets to spend a whole week with three out of his four cousins who he just adores. He has been talking about it for the last week, constantly reminding himself that he’ll get to swim with them and have fun with them. It is so cute and he is so excited.

We’ll hit the beach at some point with his bucket and spade. We’ll explore the area and we’ll see what we can find, adventure wise for the kids.

And my friend lives in Norfolk. My lovely friend from back in the school days who I hardly ever see. We are absolutely going on a little trip to see her!

But most of all we’ll be together. The three of us together for ten whole days.

I just cannot wait!

On the Wednesday of our Eurocamp holiday, we went off to the other halfs second researched place called Dennlys Theme Parc. It was about a 40 minute drive from where we were staying. It was probably my most challenging drive of the holiday – we had to go through tolls, we hit roadworks (apparently in France, the workmen love to lump piles of rubble in the middle of the road for you to weave round), and the road we needed to take was partially closed so we had to divert round. I was a bit panicky by the end of it but we successfully found the theme park…yay me!

I’d been a bit worried about taking Zach to a theme park, especially since he was allowed in for free as he’s under 1m tall. I thought that it may be because there wasn’t a lot to do for him (like how the UK works)’ but the other half had assured me that it was aimed at toddlers and it would be fine. I needn’t have worried…it was amazing. The most perfect place for a toddler. I’d say that out of about 20 different rides, there were only about 4 he couldn’t go on! They had signs by every one that was colour coded. Red meant that below that height you weren’t allowed on, Amber meant they had to be accompanied by an adult and green meant that they were allowed on their own.

There was only one that Zach was allowed to go on on his own which meant me and daddy got to have lots of fun on most of them too!

The first ride we went on was the swinging boat. What we didn’t realise was, it also spun around! I wasn’t sure how well Zach would take to it mid action but he was fine thank goodness.

Next up was a bumper cars in the water! I didn’t fancy getting splashed so the two of them went alone wifi I stood and took photos.

The ride that Zach went on on his own was a roundabout car ride. As you can see by his face, he loved this!

Next up was the turtle ride? This spun round and round and whilst this isn’t the best photo, it shows Zach’s enjoyment brilliantly!

Then there was the tractor ride that made Zach think he was driving! He loved this and it gave us a decent sit down

We went on the helicopter ride which was a firm favourite. He went on once with me and then once with daddy and then begged for more!

I made them go on the spinning pirate boats alone!

The train ride was another favourite of course! He loved pretending he was driving.

Then there was the horse ride (I liked this one best as it goes round the track and then in parts, goes into a trot!).

And then there was the rollercoaster! Oh yes, my thrill seeker of a toddler went on this…

img_7287-2709067

3 TIMES!!

And as each time it went round twice, he did a total of 6! Unfortunately, the third time we went on, we sat at the back. We should have known, being thrill seekers ourselves, that the ride is very very different when sitting at the back! It was way faster and rockier back there and whilst he didn’t cry, it was a close call! Safe to say, we left that as the last ride of the day! I’m still dead impressed that my not yet three year old loved the big rollercoaster and was desperate to go on the one he wasn’t allowed on!

His most favourite ride of the day though was the bouncing frog ride. He loved this so much that he stayed on for 2 goes with me and then went on once with daddy!

This park is absolutely fantastic for children, from any age (I saw small babies with their mummies on some rides!), up to about 11 we think although there were plenty of adults going on the rides by themselves!

We had a fab day and Zach was absolutely exhausted by the end. He still tells us now that he did love the rollercoaster – but not the back!

Have you been to a similar theme park that is extremely toddler friendly? I’d love to know so we can keep it in mind for this little dude!

On the Tuesday of our Eurocamp holiday, we got ourselves up and ready and headed off for a half hour journey to a nearby town called Boulogne-sur-mer where there is an aquarium called Nausicaa. It’s right down on the sea front and I was a little nervous about the parking by the sea, I know what a nightmare it can be in England! I needn’t have worried though because there was more parking than you could wish for and it was completely free, all day! Wonderful. Walking the short distance alongside the cute beach was lovely, if a little breezy!

We wandered into the aquarium which looked like it was closed but thankfully it wasn’t a wasted journey and it was indeed open, just rather quiet. We weren’t sure what to expect of it, we’d had a little look online and it looked pretty cool but you can never tell until you’re there. I can safely say we were not disappointed. In fact, the other half said that he could only think of Sea World in Florida being a better one that he’s been to. It was amazing. The size of the tanks and the range of species were incredible.

Right near the start there was this giant moray eel that was pretty epic – it came out and swam from one side to the other, something that it apparently doesn’t do very often. The very silly other half jokingly told Zach to be careful else it might eat him and that set us up for a good hour of him being terrified of anything inside the tanks – despite our attempts to tell him that nothing could get out to him! In fairness, the eel did look pretty terrifying!

Walking round there were so many  tanks to see full of beautiful sea life.

By the time we got to the Sharks, thankfully his fear had subsided and we were extremely impressed. They were huge and there was one beast that looked particularly terrifying! Zach didn’t seem bothered though!

We then wandered around some more tanks and staring deep into one to try and figure out what was in there, suddenly we spotted a massive crocodile! I couldn’t get a decent enough photo as it was so dark but it was fab to see.

There’s a touching area where you can stroke the stingrays and large fish.

And alongside it a small section of soft play. Of course, Zach had to make this into a choo choo train game and was asking all of the children and adults for their tickets please!

There is a huge section for the sea lions which Zach (and we) absolutely loved. They were swishing around on their backs, doing roly poly’s and the floor was made of glass so we could see them swimming under us. It was mega cool!

There was also an outdoor section for them, where they did the sea lion show – we watched this and Zach was clapping and laughing throughout. They are such incredibly clever animals and are always a joy to watch.

Following this, we ventured into a boat room. The big screen showed footage of a stormy sea and the front of the boat was on view too. As the boat hit the huge waves, the floor moved so we could experience the terrifying feeling of being on a boat in a storm. It was really realistic and genuinely a bit scary! Especially when the waves were splashing completely over the windscreen! Zach loved pretending he was the boat’s captain!

After that we nipped to the Penguins but didn’t stick around too long since it was blimmin freezing in there!

We had such a wonderful day at Nausicaa. We did look around for a restaurant outside to eat in but there wasn’t a huge amount open so once Zach woke up from his very late nap, we headed on back to our Eurocamp park, grabbed a bite to eat in the bar and Zach had some fun play on the children’s equipment.

Things to note for Nausicaa:

The food is very expensive. One of the cafe’s overlooked the shark pool which was pretty cool but we did pay 18€ for the privilege of two sandwiches, a croque Monsieur (which was very basic) and a couple of drinks! It’s a good view though!

It is huge. We weren’t sure there would be enough to do there but we spent hours looking around.

Under three’s go free – yay!! Fantastic bargain if you go with your little one.

If you are ever in the area, I’d definetely recommend a visit.

On Sunday we are off to France for 6 whole nights on a fantastic bloggers trip to Eurocamp. Yep, that’s right – possibly one of the most amazing things that has happened to me since starting this blog 11 months ago was receiving an email asking if we’d like to go on holiday!

And so on Sunday, we have a ferry departing Dover at around midday taking us across the channel where I then have to drive the short distance to a little place called Guines. I am excited and I am scared! I don’t know if you saw the magic word in there but I mentioned having to drive. Driving on the other side of the road! Something which I have never done! I know I’ll be fine, I’m a confident driver and so with extra concentration I’m sure I’ll have no problems! I’m still nervous though!

Because we have a toddler, I wasn’t sure on the idea of full on camping, so we are booked to stay in  one of their luxurious cabins which comes with 2 bedrooms and a deck. Looking very much (probably identical) to this…

So, now it’s Thursday and I’m starting to think about packing. Last time we went on holiday was almost two years ago. Zach was much smaller and other than a couple of light up toys and his push along walker, we didn’t have to pack much. Also we were staying in England in a cottage in Yorkshire so I knew anything would be a simple drive away. This time we are going to a Eurocamp park in France…slightly different. So, what is already there and what do we need to take?

What’s being provided?
We have kindly had included onto our booking, 1 welcome pack which has:

  • Box of matches
  • Cleaning sponge
  • Dish cloth
  • Tea towel
  • Bin Liner
  • Washing up liquid (125ml)
  • All purpose cleaner (125ml)
  • Soap

and 1 essentials pack which has:

  • Fairtrade Filter coffee
  • Fairtrade tea
  • Sugar
  • Creamer
  • 2 x Jam (30g each)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper (8 sachets each)
  • 2 x bottles of water (500ml each)
  • 2 x bottles of orange juice (200ml each)
  • Crisps (45g)
  • Biscuits
  • Red wine (18.7cl)
  • White wine (18.7cl)

They have also thrown in all linen hire for us and 2 x beach towel hire which has 2 towels per pack.

I have also requested to have a highchair, potty, changing mat and bed rail and baby bath all of which are free additions to any booking. The bath is an emergency one in case there is only a shower!

So, what do we need to take with us?

Clothes
The weather is going to be a bit of a mixed bag so we’ll need to take a range of all weather clothes – jeans, tops, shorts, skirts, flip flops, trainers and raincoats! I’ll pop Zach’s wellies in as well – just in case there’s a few muddy puddles!

Toiletries
We all have our own toiletries but normally when we go anywhere together, we pop in a bottle of Molton Brown that we can both use. The other half will take his head & shoulders, me, my herbal essences and Zach, his Oilatum and Childs Farm bits! Which reminds me – I need to buy some more!

Swimming stuff
As the towels are provided for us, at least we don’t have to take those. All we’ll need is my cossie, the other half’s trunks, and for Zach it will be his trunk set and armbands. We were actually given one of those cossies with floats in them earlier this month so we might pack that and try it out. Hopefully the weather will be nice and this will be me!

Food
Again, as above, there will be a few essential items on our arrival. We’ve ordered a mini Tesco shop to be delivered on Friday night which includes some Organix snacks for Zach, some breadsticks (his fave) and most importantly, a couple of bottles of sparkling wine for us. I’m also going to pack some biccie’s (toddler friendly ones for Zach, chocolate ones for us!), some tea bags because you can’t beat PG Tips and maybe some apples. We are also taking some cereal, pasta, sauces and some emergency Heinz spaghetti! You never know when spaghetti on toast might be needed! So, we aren’t going overboard, there is a shop on site (which you can order fresh bread from to pick up first thing…OMG!), and a Lidl not far away if we get stuck!

Stuff for the car
***Did you know, to legally drive in France, you need high-vis vests for all passengers, an unopened breathalyser, some spare bulbs and a warning triangle. They also recommend headlight adapters which I still need to get! Oops! I ordered all the other bits from Amazon.

***I am borrowing my mum’s new satnav because fantastically it has European maps on it and I’m hoping it will be a big help to my driving! Also in France, it is illegal to drive with a device that has the warning of speed cameras switched on so I must remember to switch that off it exists.

***I must also pack both sections of my driving license to be safe!

Documentation
***Obviously passports!

We had to get the other half’s one renewed and get Zach his own one when we found out about this holiday. They came through in record time (about a week if that) which we were chuffed about! Nothing worse that worrying about them being delayed!

***Tickets – must not forget these!

***Our European Health Insurance Cards that entitle us to free or discounted healthcare. Again, I only ordered these last week and they came through in days!

***Travel insurance paperwork. We got this for about £11 for the three of us and it covers all what we could need. Hopefully we won’t need it but it’s peace on the mind that we do.

Useful stuff
***Money! I picked up our wadge of Euros this evening!

***Hair straighteners and hairdryer is a must for me!

***Phone chargers

***Travel adaptors – I just picked up two of these tonight in Tesco’s!

***First aid kit, again picked up in Tesco’s tonight.

***Torch – we need to nip across the road to get one on Saturday!

Entertainment
***I’m thinking the iPad might be a good shout – they have wi-fi which you can purchase for the week so if we need to entertain Zach with some Justin’s House, then we’ll be able to!

***Toys – I’ll take a selection of Zach’s favourite toys. I think some musts will be Baby Tad which he currently has to fall asleep with at the moment and we have to carefully take him out and not set any of his music off! We have a product for a review that I need to do which they purposefully got here in time for us to take with us!

We’ll probably take his Duplo train and his rocket ship which are firm faves at the moment and also a couple of jigsaws and these Appealing Rabbit cards that he adores!

***Games for us! Well, once Zach is in bed asleep, it’ll be time for the other half and I to enjoy the evening! I can see a few games of Scrabble and Cluedo taking place!

***Books – for all of us. We’ll take a selection for Zach and I’m hoping to grab one from the library on Saturday as is the other half!

***Magazines. I have a huge bunch of magazines here and I fully intend on reading some while we are away? Am I dreaming? We’ll see!

Things I need to do before we go
***Visit the library to return all current books and pick up some new ones for us.

***Get the car cleaned. It is filthy and whilst I know that going on this trip will just make it dirty again, I want to be able to have a perfectly clear view out of the windscreen when I’m driving in this different country!

***Check the tyre pressures are all ok. I am rubbish at this, always need the other half there to assist me even though he doesn’t even drive! It was something I always got my Dad to do and can guarantee that if he was still alive, I would still be asking him!

***Grab some rabbit food from the pet shop. Our lovely neighbour is going to be feeding them while we are away. It’s perfect because ever since we got them, he has been begging his parents for one but they won’t let him, knowing full well it’ll be them looking after it! This way, he gets to spend a week looking after them for us, and we know they are in safe hands. He’s a reliable young lad, 18 I think and has his head fully screwed on bless him.

***Set the satnav up and make sure it works how I hope it works and input any information into it!

***Make sure any blog posts that need to publish while I’m away are all scheduled! I don’t want to rely on the wi-fi being perfect!

And that’s it I think! I’m so looking forward to our break away. We had a week off in April but it was so busy that we were exhausted. I’m looking forward to some lazy evenings when Zach is in bed, enjoying some much needed us time and having loads of fun in the day with our boy!

So, tell me. Have I forgotten anything? Have you been to Eurocamp? And finally, any advice for driving on the other side of the road?!

Well Christmas happened, the new year has passed and tomorrow it’s time to go back to work. I feel incredibly sad as I have had the best two weeks with my boy ever. It’s been so lovely being home as a family and I had a couple of days of just me and Zach which was extra special. It really helped to get that special bond back between the two of us and I finally feel wholly loved again. There has still been some daddy do it but there’s also been a lot of mummy. There’s been lots of cuddles, kisses, tickles and laughing and I feel like I have been the mummy that he wants me to be to him.

Of course, Monday morning will see the return of the 5.45am alarm clock, the early drive to my mum’s and the whole day of leaving him. Tuesday will bring the nursery drop off and everything will return to normality – though it’s a normality that I dislike hugely!

So much has happened over the past two weeks and there have been so many proud mummy moments it’s brilliant.

  • Zach has got his pleases and thank you’s mostly in the right order and from the bathroom last night, I heard him shout Mummy can you bring the towel please?. He also apologised to the other half off his own back over what was an accident. I think he accidentally bashed into his legs and he immediately said sorry daddy. So cute
  • The dummy has completely gone. We didn’t even have to send it to Santa like the health visitor suggested, he just decided that he no longer needed it for his naps (he hasn’t had it in the daytime for a while now) and that was it. He doesn’t ask for it…if he does mention it, it’s instantly forgotten and I think we can safely throw them away.
  • He has been weeing on the potty! Admittedly it didn’t start when I hoped it would…in fact it was on Friday that he did the first one! We’ve been encouraging him for the whole holidays, he’s been sitting on it with nothing happening but on Friday I took it out of the bathroom and into the living room and he sat on it and done a tiny wee. Since then we have had 8 wee’s on it, with this mornings being the biggest. He has lots of smiley faces on his reward chart which he is very happy about.
  • Tooth brushing has become easier since we’ve been using a sticker chart – although he’s rewards are literally just stickers at the moment – it’s been Christmas so he’s already had tons of goodies!
  • His speech is ridiculous! He makes so much sense now and we’ve just been shocked about what he knows and how he can form sentences. This morning he got one mixed up, thought about it and corrected himself!
  • He’s doing brilliantly with his letters. He likes to play the alphablocks game on the Ipad and he’s learnt so much on it. So much so that the other day he managed to spell foot and then food all on his own just by listening to the phonic sounds

To say I’ve been proud of him over the past two weeks is an understatement.

What new things have your little ones done over the Christmas break? Are you ready to go back to work or have you already started back? I’m dreading that alarm tomorrow!

Here’s some of my favourite photos from the last couple of weeks Apologies, they are iPhone pics so not the best quality!
