Living Arrows 2021 – Week 20 – Mummascribbles
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
This weekend we went out! I know right! We hadn’t really made any plans, and then I booked my Covid vaccination which I had on Saturday morning, and so I wasn’t sure I’d be up for doing anything anyway. But when I woke up on Sunday feeling pretty OK (bar a sore arm and a tiny headache), we decided we would venture to Dobbies Garden Centre which is just down the road. It was our first trip there and we had no idea what it was like, and it probably wasn’t the most exciting venture (especially when garden centres have been open for ages!), but honestly, it was like we’d told the kids we were going to a theme park! They were buzzing on the drive there, they were so excited when we parked up, and they were like wild animals who had been caged up for a year (which is kind of true really) when we went in.
They wandered around with us, looked at all the things, zoomed around the aquarium section excitedly, and then had a great play in the play area for a while. Of course the excitement waned off after about an hour when we were deciding what pots to buy and what size of potting soil we needed, but it was so lovely to see them out somewhere normal. And of course, we rewarded them with a yummy ice cream at the end of it!
Here are a few happy photos from the trip!
