Mummascribbles meets…Mum, M & More – Mummascribbles
Today we meet the lovely Sophie from Mum, M & More. Thanks so much for taking part Sophie
Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family
I’m Sophie. I live with my Husband and 2 year old daughter Matilda (otherwise known as M). I used to be in the Army as a musician and that is where I met Hubby. We have been married 5 years this year. I left the Army 8 months ago to become a stay at home mum, it is the best decision I have ever made.
What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do), or blogging?
I love shopping, whether it is online or walking around the high street. I also love to go down to the river and park with M and feed the ducks. We live really close to Richmond Park, so we like to walk and go and see the deer and have a run about!
What is your biggest achievement to date?
Obviously, I would have to say having M, she is my world. But apart from that I would have to say joining the Army. I left home at 16 and joined up. It was the hardest but most amazing thing I have ever done. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the Army.
From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?
The hardest part has to be the discipline. Sometimes, I feel like I am too hard on M, and as she is quite bright I forget that she is only 2. I do feel though, things like manners are so important and she needs to learn. I can’t really pin point a specific rewarding part, as everything is. I love spending all day with her and every little new thing she does is fantastic. Even when she has been naughty or hard, her little smile and cheeky grin just melts my heart and all is well again.
Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?
As I am now a stay at home mum, I do find the most simplest of tasks hard as I have to make sure M is entertained or able to help me. I have started to try to get M involved with some cleaning as that eases the load but most of my jobs are done, either when she is napping or when the hubby has come home from work.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I started the day before I went back to the Army after maternity leave. I intended on it being a diary of how I juggled Army life and a baby. As you can see, that is not the case anymore, and us both being in it didn’t work. Now I love to just document what we do as a family and what M loves doing. It’s so lovely to look back on.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
My blog is just a lovely place where I write about daily happenings with M and family life. I throw in the odd few mummy bits but it is mainly M. We love baking and cooking, craft and I love to show off her wardrobe with some fashion posts. It’s a very easy reading blog with (hopefully) nice pictures and cute ideas.
What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?
I’m not too sure on what to expect with my blog. I just take every day as it comes. I would love to meet up with some like minded bloggers in the future but for now, I just like to write and read and hope that people like reading it too.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
Do it. It is lovely. If you have a passion for writing then just go for it. You will meet some lovely people and read some amazing blogs along the way!
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
Ooo…this is hard…just 3, ok.
1. Prince Harry, he is hot and I’m sure would be a fun guest!
2. Audrey Hepburn, I have loved her for years. I love her style and everything about her.
3. Gordon Ramsey, he could help me when everything in the kitchen goes wrong!!
Tell me three random facts about you
1. I used to play golf for Yorkshire Girls
2. I play Cello, Oboe & a little Piano
3. I dream of opening a tea shop!
