Mummascribbles – Mummascribbles meets…Dear Bear and Beany – Mummascribbles
This week we meet the lovely Laura from Dear Bear and Beany. Thanks so much for taking part Laura 🙂Â

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family.Â
I live in a small market town in Berkshire, with my husband and two beautiful daughters, Alice, three and Holly, one.
Andy and I first met nearly fourteen years ago, but we didn’t get together until six years. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride…
What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do), or blogging?Â
I love to read and it is one of my missions this year to read more. I find that when I go to bed, I am asleep after reading two sentences.
I enjoy going out for dinner with friends, having a chance to catch up over some lovely food is heaven to me.
What is your biggest achievement to date?Â
With no hesitation it’s becoming a mummy!
From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?Â
I have found the most hardest and frustrating part is that just when I think I am getting to grips with it, they move onto the next phase and I am out of my depth again and having to learn all over again.Â
The most rewarding part is when my eldest daughter tells me I am the best mummy in the world and I think, I can’t be too bad at this mummy thing!
Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?Â
It’s relentless and I don’t think I have quite nailed it yet! There is always washing and ironing to be done and I don’t think I will ever win that battle.Â
I focus on the jobs that have to be done that day and try to tackle it in bite size chunks. I want to have as much time with my girls before Alice starts school in September and fit in as many fun days as I can. The washing can wait…
Why did you decide to start blogging?Â
I first thought about starting a blog when Alice was born 3 years ago, but I wasn’t brave enough and I pushed it to the back of my mind.
Then more recently the thought kept coming back and I decided that it was time to start doing something for me. With my husband’s encouragement, dear bear and beany was born.
Tell me a bit about your blog?Â
My blog is my place to capture my life with my girls, something that I can look back on in years to come.Â
But, it is also my place to share my rambling thoughts and I am getting braver at pressing that publish button…
What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?Â
I don’t have any grand plans for my taking my blog anywhere, I am enjoying writing it and that is what matters to me at the moment.Â
I love it when someone takes the time to leave a comment, to know that I connected with someone.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?Â
To just do it, my biggest regret is that I didn’t take the step to do it three years ago.
Write from the heart and find your voice. Don’t worry about all the other aspects of blogging to begin with, just take your time and enjoy it.
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive), who would it be and why?Â
1. Robbie Williams – I have loved him forever!!
2. Giovanna Fletcher – I just love to read her books and blog. Her Vlogs make me feel normal as a mother. I think we could have a good chat over dinner.
3. All my friends – I find it hard to find time to see everyone as much as I would love to, so to have them all together in one place would be fab (I think I cheated there, as that is more than 1 person!!)
Tell me three random facts about youÂ
1. I was a finalist in a singing competition on a local radio station when I was at school. My friend and I wrote the song and the final was held in a large shopping centre live on the radio.
2. I hate tea! It made my mum sick when she was pregnant with me and so she only drank coffee, which I love.Â
3. I can put my big toe in my mouth….I think we shall just leave that there!!!
