Mummascribbles – Shoe storage solutions with Homify – Mummascribbles

One of the things that really annoys the Mr is my lack of tidyness. The one thing in particular he dislikes is my love of leaving shoes around for all and sundry to trip over. He’s tripped over them, I’ve tripped over them, Zach has tripped over them and at one point our old cat liked to sleep in them. We have a cupboard under the stairs where we tend to throw the shoes but I find it really annoying because everything seems to be on top of each other and I can spend an age trying to find my other trainer or my other boot. I mean when they are both sitting on the dining room floor it’s so much easier and faster to grab them! Then there are Zach’s little shoes (which get bigger all the ruddy time) that like to sit in a bag in the hallway, as during the week he spends the time in the car in just his socks as he’s usually in his pyjamas!

One of the things I dream about is having a decent shoe storage area, somewhere that I can neatly place all of the footwear that we own. For our shoes to have their own little home where they aren’t being covered with carrier bags, rucksacks and exercise mats! Ok, so it’s not really an exercise mat, it’s a thin mattress for camping but it totally works as an exercise mat!

So I found myself admiring longinly at a selection of gorgeous shoe storage ideas on Homify, an awesome website full of home design inspirations to browse through.

First up is this gorgeous unit that would be perfect for our house. We have a long hallway and I really would love some furniture in it. It’s quite a skinny hallway so it would need to be quite a thin unit and something like this would look fab!

Next up is a really quirky idea but I think it would look super cool with a bunch of shoes in it! This gorgeous crate would look fantastic in a hallway or landing. It would add real character to the area.

You’d need to have a pretty impressive staircase for this, plus a wadge of money to pay for it but this would be the dream. A hidden away shoe storage area. In actual fact, this could work on our staircase. I’ll have to have a word with him indoors. I mean he wants me to put my shoes away right?!
