Mummascribbles – What's in my hospital bags? – Mummascribbles

Having been previously unorganised in getting my hospital bags together, last week when I was walking past a charity shop and spotted a bag that would be absolutely perfect, it was suddenly time to make the lists and get everything packed. Last pregnancy I was incredibly organised and probably checked the bags at least three times. This time, I have packed them and not bothered looking in them again! They are packed right? That’s the main thing!
So, I thought I would do a little post to show you what I have included for me and what I have included for baby.
For me

Maternity pads Flannel Tissues Toothpaste Toothbrush Lanolin nipple cream Shampoo Conditioner Shower gel Deodarant Antibacterial hand soap Lip balm Face moisturiser Body moisturiser Cleansing water Cotton wool Nursing pads Knickers (only two pairs at the moment as I still need to buy another pack!) Nursing nightwear (mine are button down ones) Nursing vest (I lived in these with Zach!)
Mumba nursing bra
Maternity swimming cossie (in case I get to use the birthing pool)
Towel

For baby

Water wipes (either these didn’t exist when I had Zach or I didn’t know about them and used the old fashioned water and cotton wool which is a nightmare!) Long sleeved vests newborn (x2) Long sleeved vests 0-3 (x2) Short sleeved vests newborn (x2) Short sleeved vests 0-3 (x2) 2 sleepsuits newborn (x2) 2 sleepsuits 0-3 (x2) Socks (x2) Mitts (x3) Hats (x2) Cardigan (x2) Muslins (x2) Nappies (1 pack of first size) Nappy bags (totally need to buy these!) Swaddle blanket (tester really – Zach hated being swaddled!) Blanket (x1) Nappy rash cream
Formula bottles (x2) just in case I struggle to breastfeed

So there we have it. It may be too much, it may not be enough. Last time I was in hospital for 3 days and it was only 5 minutes up the road. We have moved house since then and it’s a good 20 minute drive from our house and since the other half doesn’t drive, I feel it’s better to be prepared just in case I end up with another c-section!
