Mummascribbles – What’s your weakness?! – Mummascribbles
For me, it’s cakes and biscuits.

I love them. Simply love them.
I don’t think there’s one biccie that I don’t like. I definitely have favourites but I would eat anything!
When I still lived at home, my dad would bring me a cup of tea every morning and there would always be a biscuit alongside it. Terrible considering it was first thing in the morning. I carried this tradition on when I moved out but there came a point where I decided it was completely possible to drink a cup of tea without eating one.
When I was pregnant, I definitely ate even more biscuits and cakes than usual. Even though they specifically say don’t actually eat for two, I did. One biscuit for me, one biscuit for baby and an extra for me!
It went even further than that though. When I had Zach and I was breastfeeding, I ate tons. I would take Zach out for a walk and we’d get home and I’d be really, really quiet so he didn’t wake up and I could enjoy a hot cup of tea and a slice (or two) of cake. Because I was breastfeeding, I was lovely and slim and I thought it was the most wonderful thing – being able to eat anything and still losing weight. The bit I didn’t think about was what would happen once I’d finished breastfeeding. I’ll tell you what happened…all of the badness in those biscuits and cakes crept onto my hips, added themselves onto what was left of my mummy tummy and laughed. A big fat ha ha ha in my face!
Since then, I have been doing my damnedest to try and shift it all. For a while it was still my mummy tummy, especially as it’s harder to lose if you have a c-section. As time went on though, I could no longer use that excuse and it just became my tummy. Full of cakes and biscuits!
Has anything changed?
No!
No matter how hard I try, I just cannot resist. I just sat here at my desk and while I drank my cup of tea, I ate two extremely delicious chocolate chip cookies. I did the same yesterday. They are just so damn tasty.
So that Zach doesn’t catch me eating them at home, I either hide myself or have a discreet munch while he’s busy eating something healthier in his high chair! See – I’m even devious when it comes to getting my fix!
I thought about including my top 5 of cakes and biscuits but that’s impossible as there are too many to choose from! From dark chocolate digestives to custard creams, from bourbons to jammy dodgers. Marble cake to chocolate cake and doughnuts to iced buns. I love them all.
I don’t know how I expect myself to lose my flabby bits when I can’t resist such temptations!
