Mummascribbles – When hand me downs aren't enough! – Mummascribbles

This is a collaborative post

With Oscar being the second child and in particular the second boy, it is safe to say that he has had a lot of hand me downs. When I was in the later stages of the pregnancy, I sent the other half up to the loft to get down the bags of clothing that we put up there as Zach grew out of them. Some of the stuff was even handed down to Zach so it has been through more than one child!

We all know that children, and especially babies, grow out of clothes so quickly and that’s why it doesn’t really matter if they have hand me downs. It’s also super cute when you compare photos of them four years apart wearing the same clothes!

However…

It is always nice to pick up new bits and bobs for the second child and I generally can’t help perusing the rails of baby clothes in stores or having a browse online, because they are just so cute. And every now and then, I have a little splurge.

When I discovered Petit Bateau, I got a little excited. I love discovering new shops and since one of the ones that I used to use regularly closed down, I have been looking for something to replace it with equally gorgeous clothing.

With it being winter right now, I just love baby knitwear and there are some super gorgeous little jumpers and cardigans over on their site. I mean, how gorgeous is this?

And this jumper is just adorable!

So yes, hand me downs are wonderful things, they save you a lot of money and it doesn’t matter quite so much when your baby does a huge poonami and it’s easier to just throw that specific item of clothing away. But sometimes, just sometimes it’s nice to have a splurge. And of course, it’ll be nice to show Oscar photos of himself in clothes that weren’t pre-worn by his big brother. He deserves a little spoil every now and then!
