Our weekend happy – Music class, Christmas lights and soft play! – Mummascribbles
With Oscar being poorly during the week, we didn’t manage to go to our Tuesday morning music class. I knew that the exact same one ran on Saturday mornings and was thinking about taking him as a replacement to the one we missed but I wasn’t sure whether Zach would be able to come with us and I knew we wouldn’t get away with going without him. When we had no other plans, I quickly messaged the leader to find out if we could all go along and thankfully she responded almost immediately and gave a resounding yes!
And so, suddenly we needed to get out of the house so it was a quick get ready for us all and a speedy walk up to the park where class is. Zach was so excited bless him – he loves it when he gets to experience the classes with Oscar and they both thoroughly enjoyed it.
The plan that we did have in place for Saturday was perfectly timed with the finish of music class, and that was the switching on of the Christmas lights at the shopping centre across the road from us. Zach was probably the most excited about this and we left the beautiful autumnal looking park and headed the 10 or so minutes back down the road to the shops.

It’s a very small shopping centre but it was so lovely to see people out celebrating the big switch on. Our neighbours were there and Zach bumped into a few of his school friends which was just super cute. It wasn’t long after we got there that Santa appeared, the Mayoress appeared and we did the countdown to her pressing the big red button. Zach’s face when the lights came on was an absolute picture – it’s the first time he’s ever experienced it and it was just really special.
Of course, Santa is now set up in his grotto and it’s going to be a daily question from Zach as to whether he can go and see him! It’s going to be a long month!

After the switch on had happened, we grabbed some shopping for lunch and headed home to eat. Sadly Oscar didn’t quite fall asleep and so I had to take him on an extra walk, during which not only was it freezing but then it started raining too. I was not impressed.

As soon as he was asleep, I went straight home to defrost, had some lunch and then he woke up too soon and I had a cranky child on my hands!
Once he had decided to cheer up, the other half decided that after two months of us having them, we would put up the pictures that we bought from our photoshoot! We already had a selection on the wall from a previous shoot and so we just added to that to make a wall full of us all. I absolutely adore it!

We then had dinner and it was straight to bed for the boys as they were both very tired!
On Saturday night, we decided that we would take them to soft play on Sunday and so after I gave the other half a small lay in, we got ourselves ready and headed out early. The boys had loads of fun (as per!), and I had a yummy hot chocolate (standard!).
It then got really busy as they had a couple of birthday parties in and as Oscar needed a nap, we headed home where we had some lunch whilst he slept and then again he woke up too soon and had a meltdown, so I put him on the boob where he had a further hour of sleep and then woke up happier. They all had a play, I cooked a yummy lasagne and then it was time for bath and bed!

And that was another weekend gone!
