Snugglybabies back seat car mirror – a review – Mummascribbles
One of the most important things that you can buy when you have a baby (and if you drive), is a back seat car mirror. This is one of those mirrors that generally attaches to the the back headrest that is facing your baby and which you can then see through your rearview mirror – meaning that you have visibility of your baby whilst you are driving.
One of the most annoying things that I bought when Zach was a baby (so four years ago) was a backseat car mirror! In fact, I think I bought at least two because they were complete rubbish and just kept falling down all the time. One was so bad that every time I got in the car, I adjusted it so that I could see my lovely baby safe and snug in his car seat, only for it to slide down moments after moving the car meaning that I could no longer see my safe and snug lovely baby. Like I say…rubbish!
A backseat mirror was obviously on my list of things to get during my second pregnancy but with the knowledge that they were a bit pants, I needed to find one that I hadn’t tried before and that potentially actually worked. When Snugglebabies got in touch to see if I wanted to review their premium back seat car mirror, I had a little look at the details and said yes please. Why? Because of this…
Instead of using strap designs or suction design, Snugglybabies mirror has a unique clamp that latches onto your headrest bar. It is more stable and can be placed in various positions for that perfect view of your baby, unlike that of any of our competitors.
The question is, would it live up to that bold statement?!
I am pleased to report that yes…yes it has!
I have now been using the mirror for four months and it has not fallen down. In fact, the only time it has moved is when I’ve knocked it with the car seat and I’ve quickly popped it back into position.

The mirror is huge which is a massive bonus, I get such a fantastic view of Oscar…just today I could see that he had coughed up a bit of mucus (yep, he still has a cold!). It is also completely shatter proof and whilst I can’t back that up through experience (thank goodness), I trust that this has been fully tested by the manufacturers!
The other half managed to connect it within seconds and as long as you have adjustable headrests then it’ll go in your car. It is also pretty flexible and can go in a number positions in the car…even so you can view the middle seat!

I am so ruddy chuffed that someone has developed a back seat mirror that actually works – especially since Oscar spent a good eight weeks coughing his guts up and screaming when we were driving. He’s not the best traveller in the world so it’s lovely to be able to see whether he is about to have a cry or not!
