Tidy Books Box – a review (featuring a special discount code for you!) – Mummascribbles
I have confessed before that I am not the tidiest person in the world. I have a terrible knack for walking in the front door and using the hallway as a dumping ground or piling the coats and jumpers (and lots of other things) on the dining table. I have another terrible untidy confession though…books. In particular, Zach’s books. He has A LOT of books, His shelves are full, and we often end up with a batch of library books living on his floor. On top of these, I often find myself piling the books we read each night and in the end there’ll be about 15 books. I know, it’s definitely something I need to work on and I do seem to have got better but it’s definitely a work in progress.

When I was kindly offered a Book Tidy Box from Tidy Books to help me with my overflowing messy book problem, it was like someone had looked at Zach’s floor and seen how in need of some book storage I was. Tidy Books was created by Geraldine, a mum just like you and I, who could see that a new design in bookshelves was needed where the child could see the front of the books rather than just the spines, and ten years on she has a range of gorgeous products that are ever pleasing to the eye and easy for young children to use.

The Book Tidy Box is really a genius idea. A gorgeous product that is easily transportable and stores up to 40 childrens books. It’s design is finished in water lacquer which is safe and virtually odour free and is made from sustainable limewood with no MDF meaning it’s good for the planet.
I set the other half to work on putting it together and it was so easy. All it takes is an allen key, a few screws and about ten minutes. And then voila, your box is built. If you aren’t one to build things yourself, Tidy Books do offer a pre-assembled book box service for £20.

The quality of this product is absolutely wonderful. It’s strong, it’s sturdy and it’s really beautiful. The little clock on the side is such a lovely little bonus too. Zach is really into clocks right now and I can see us really using that little feature to help him learn his time in the future.

It really does hold a huge amount of books and really is transportable – we even took it to Zach’s nannie’s house because it meant he got to show it to her and take heaps of books round where he’d normally only take about four! It’s also super easy for him to look through the books that are in there and choose them by just recognising the front cover. His normal bookshelves are those where you are only looking at the spine and I’m regretting that a little bit now that I know forward facing ones exist!

The big question is of course, has it been the solution I needed to not have a pile of books on the floor? YES! It has! It is so wonderful at the end of reading time to just pop the books back in the Book Tidy Box and it also means that there is more room on his standing bookshelves for even more books and none that are laying over the floor!

I have been so impressed with this Book Tidy Box, right from the design, the easy build and the look of the finished product. It fits in fab with his furniture, the blue of the clock is the same blue as his wardrobes and most importantly, he loves it! Especially when he’s trying to choose from his new selection of Peppa Pig books…it’s so much easier for him to be able to see the covers!
The Book Tidy Box is available at Tidy Books for £79.99 and they have given me a special 15% off code especially for all you lovely readers. Just use SCR15 at the checkout to get your money off.
We were sent the Tidy Books Box for the purpose of this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
