Mummascribbles – A dress wish list with Lyst – Mummascribbles
I like clothes. I do. However, I often try them on and find myself thinking that they don’t look quite right or that maybe I’ll wait until I lose a bit of weight before I make the purchase. I often find myself in changing rooms, in front of those horrible mirrors that surround me from every angle with all those bright lights highlighting everything that is wrong with my body. To be honest, I am not really a huge fan of shopping, be it for clothes or the weekly shop. If I can have things delivered to my door, try them on in the comfort of my own home whilst not getting sore feet pacing through the shopping centres and not having those horrible lighted mirrors make me feel bad about myself, that is a huge preference.
I therefore quite like browsing through online shops and sometimes have a little peep while on my lunch hour. I’ve been looking recently at dresses for work. When I am away at an event I have to dress smart but not suited and booted. In fact, it’s one of the best things about my company, in that I can wear what I want to an event as long as it’s smart. My old company had a sort of uniform in that we had to wear a black suit and a bright red, horribly uncomfortable shirt. I hate suits and I hate shirts so events were always hideously uncomfortable for me! Now that I am allowed to wear lovely smart dresses, I often think my wardrobe could do with an update and so I’ve been having a little look to see what inspiration I can find!
I adore this Blue Tile Jacquard Shift Dress by Sugarhill.

It’s funky, sleek and perfect for both a day on site or a sneaky date night! I do love buying things that can be worn for both work and play! I love the way this comes in at the waist but doesn’t cling to the hips. Perfect for my figure!
I have also fallen a little bit in love with this Gray Tabitha Tux Wrap Dress by French Connection.

It is simple and elegent and would make me feel like a power woman at one of my events! I love the way it crosses over on the leg, it gives it a really flattering shape. I’d team this up with a lovely pair of long boots and a blazer.
And then, if my luck comes in one day and I find myself with a lovely little bunch of cash, I’ll be heading straight for this gorgeous Red Burgundy Wool-silk Blend Button-through Dress by Paul Smith.

I absolutely love the colour, and the button design, and the length, and everything about it! Teamed up with a little black cardigan and a pair of pumps, this would just look fab.
These are such a gorgeous selection of dresses and among them, I think I have discovered a new favourite designer. I’m off to keep browsing through and see what other treasures I can find!
