Mummascribbles – Art Therapy with Parragon Books – Mummascribbles

When I found out that the next Paragon Book Buddy instalment to arrive through our door was going to be a couple of gorgeous colouring books, I got a bit excited. I won’t lie, I immediately knew that they would be too detailed for Zach – he is much better with his pencil control but he is only just getting to grips with big pictures.  This meant that I could stake a claim on these and  (if I could find some time), have a little go at this new relaxation tool!

When they arrived, they were just as beautiful as I expected.  One being a Disney Frozen theme and the other Disney Princesses. You’re never too old for a bit of Disney right? I haven’t done proper colouring for a long time so whilst they are very detailed, they are not too difficult  (I never was the best colourer in the world!).

It’s taken me a while to write this review because finding the time to actually sit down and colour was proving tricky! But over the last week or so, I have found some time to have a go and it really is quite fun! I did get a bit of an achey hand where I haven’t done it in so many years but it was really nice to focus on something and make it pretty.

I started off using Zach’s pencils but I managed to find the other half’s set of ‘proper ones’, hence the slight change in purple on one of the flowers.

It does take a long time to get through one of these because there is so much detail and thus, I have only done half of one page but I do aim to continue when I can because it is something very different to writing, or being on social media, or watching TV.  It’s nice to take some time away from the screens!

If I was a nice person, I might have passed these onto my niece because they would be perfect for a 6/7 year old but I’m being selfish and keeping them myself. I mean when I have baby number two later in the year, I’m going to have loads of time to colour, right?!!

I was sent these colouring books as my part in the Parragon Book Buddy group.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
