Mummascribbles – Mummascribbles meets…Life Unexpected – Mummascribbles

This week we meet the lovely Chloe from Life Unexpected. Thanks so much for taking part Chloe 🙂

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family
Hi, I’m Chloe! I’m a full time blogger and freelance writer. I am so lucky to live in a beautiful seaside town in Cornwall with my little mischievous toddler Evie. I also have a partner called Aitan. He is my absolute best friend and I’m so excited to be building a life with him.

We actually have a very unusual set up at the moment as we live with my Mum, Step-Dad and teenage sister while we save up for a mortgage. Our house definitely gets a little bit hectic sometimes.

What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do), or blogging?
Going to the beach, travelling and eating at lots of delicious restaurants.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
Becoming a mother. My daughter was so unexpected and completely overhauled my life. I changed so much when she was born and my proudest achievement is being the best mum that I can be to her.

From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?
The hardest part is how exhausting it can be. Toddler tantrums aren’t the nicest things to deal with and sometimes I’m so jealous and wish I could throw myself on the floor in the supermarket and wail.

Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?
I am a list person. I make lists about lists. I have lots of methods of keeping organised and balanced. I write a lot about this on Life Unexpected. From meal planning, to time blocking, to routines. I don’t think anyone ever 100% finds the balance, but I try my best.

Why did you decide to start blogging?
Blogging for me, started out as a creative outlet when I was on maternity leave. Very soon though, I made it my goal to become my job as it incorporated everything I love; social media, writing, photography, creativity.

Tell me a bit about your blog?
Life Unexpected used to be a diary of our life by the seaside, but it has evolved into something so much more. Now it follows my life as a millennial mum. I want to prove to mums everywhere, that we can be these successful workers, amazing mums and keepers of beautiful homes.

I try to inspire mums to be who they want to be, to not be afraid of starting their own businesses or of travelling with children. At the same time I want to try and help people to balance life with tips and tricks on how to make things easier.

What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?
I want to be able to help people. I also want to inspire myself. Everyday I push myself to see where else my blog can take me. I would love to create an e-book to sell on my blog. That’s my next goal.

What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
Blogging is an incredible thing to do. It can take you in so many directions and if you want to start one, you really need to try it for yourself. Even if its a hobby, or you’d like it to be your job it can introduce you to a whole new world. You’ll make some amazing friends, you’ll feel proud of yourself and you’ll constantly feel inspired.

If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive), who would it be and why?

1. Louis Theroux – I love his take on the world and how is isn’t afraid to ask the most awkward questions.

2. Jennifer Lawrence – She is beautiful, hilarious and comes across as everyones best friends. Dinner with her would be so much fun.

3. Steve Jobs – I’d love to chew his ear on business. He’s made so many motivational speeches and I think he’s really inspiring.

Tell me three random facts about you

1. I have a phobia of veins. I can’t look at them and just the thought of taking blood or being put on a drip terrifies me. Both of the latter happened during pregnancy and I am so sorry to the nurses who watched me crumble like a baby. The annoying thing is I have a really rare blood type so I should be giving blood. It’s something I’m going to push myself to do this year.

2. I am such an introvert. I’m so painfully shy in person, which people find so odd as I have a blog and broadcast so much of our life. A lot of the time people think I’m rude because I don’t start conversations easily, but I am terrified of saying the wrong thing.

3. Not many people know that I used to work in London in the music industry. It was so much fun and very different to my seaside life as a blogger.
