Mummascribbles – Mummascribbles meets…Miracle Max – Mummascribbles
This week we meet the lovely Jo from Miracle Max. Thanks so much for taking part Jo 🙂

Tell me a little bit about you and your family
I’m Jo and I’m 33 years old. I met my husband, Adam, in 2010 and we got married in April 2013. After a long, hard journey we are now proud parents to Max who we welcomed into the world in June 2016. I’m a born and bred Essex girl (we’re not all like the people you see on TOWIE) and am fortunate enough to have an amazing family bond with my parents, older sister and younger brother.
What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do) or blogging?
I’m quite a simple girl at heart and love spending time with my family. I’m currently on maternity leave so am making the most of my time off by making lots of little memories with Max. I love travelling and try to go away twice a year. Food is also a big passion of mine (eating, not cooking) and I love going out trying new restaurants.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
It has to be when our fertility journey was featured in the National newspapers in August. We unfortunately suffered 6 miscarriages before having Max, and he was finally conceived after undergoing IVF. Our journey of hope made it into the likes of the Daily Mail and The Express, and we were also interviewed on live radio. After the story was published I had hundreds of women contact me who were experiencing similar issues saying how I have given them hope to continue on their journey. I was so overwhelmed by how many women reached out to me and it made me feel so pleased that some good can come out of all the heartache.
From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?
The hardest part has to be how much this tiny baby can change your whole world. I wasn’t prepared for the huge change in lifestyle. I always used to say that the baby would fit into our current routine but in reality that’s just not always possible. We used to be a very care free and spontaneous couple but now even popping to the shops takes military style planning. The most rewarding part has to be watching Max grow and develop – every milestone he reaches, no matter how small, makes me burst with pride! And my little heard melts when he looks into my eyes and gives me a beaming smile.
Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?
I’m very fortunate that my husband is self employed and works from home so I have him to help me a lot. He can entertain Max for an hour whilst I frantically sterilise bottles and tidy the house. I’m not sure how I’d manage if I didn’t have him.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I’d been on such a long journey trying to become a Mum that I wanted to document our history. When I was going through our miscarriages I spent hours reading blogs of others experiences so I thought it would be a good way to share my story in the hope that maybe one day it would help other women.
Tell me a bit about your blog?
It’s quite a varied blog. It’s mainly focused around our lives with Max but also features posts about the PND I suffered, and obviously fertility posts. Just recently I’ve branched out a bit and have done a few food and beauty reviews.
What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?
I always thought of it as a hobby but I’d love to turn it into a little part time job so I could continue to be a stay at home Mum. My blog is only 4 months old but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come already so I’d just love for it to continue on the path it’s going.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers. I spent the first month comparing my social media following and monthly visitors etc to other bloggers and wasted so much time wishing I could be as ‘popular’ as them. I’m now a firm believer in writing good content and the rest will follow.
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
1. My Granddad – I loved him so much and lost him when I was 17. I’d give anything to have a few precious hours with him again.
2. Paul Walker – purely for the eye candy factor!
3. Rebel Wilson – I love all her films and she literally has me tearing up with laughter, she’s so funny.
Tell me three random facts about you
1. I’m scared of birds, like actually terrified.
2. I have a big phobia of flying and am looking into getting hypnotised to try to overcome my fear – I love my holidays too much to let it beat me.
3. I’m lucky enough to have visited Orlando 12 times.
