I have been nominated by Hello Archie (thanks so much!) for a Liebster award this week. In case you don’t know, this award is all about discovering new blogs and helping fellow (relatively unknown) bloggers with their readership. As a new blogger myself, I know how much work it takes to get your blog out there and so I accept this award so I can help others.

Here are the general rules for the Liebster award:

11 Questions

What’s your favourite month of the year?
It would have to be May. I love the days warming up, the flowers in bloom, the lambs springing around. Behind my mum’s house there are always sheep and I just love opening the back doors and listening to the little babies bleating.

What’s your middle name and why did your parents choose it?
My middle name is Marie and I think they chose it just because they thought it was pretty…certainly not after Lisa Marie Presley, which I have been asked many, many times over the years!

What’s your favourite TV show?
It has to be Hannibal. It’s genius and is one of those programmes where I’m gutted when the season ends. It’s clever, gory, well acted and well written. Everything I could want from a show!

Where did you meet your current partner?
We met at college sixteen years ago. We have remained in the same group of friends since then and we eventually got together four and a half years ago.

Do you have any pets? How do your children interact with them and vice versa?
We have Millie the cat and some fish. Zach adores Millie…the feeling is not completely mutual although she is much better with him now than she used to be when she’d just run away and hide. She’s very poorly at the moment and won’t be with us for much longer so it’s kind of a shame that they are just establishing a bit of a relationship where she’ll let him stroke and cuddle her. He loves to help feed both her and the fish. It definitely shows his caring side!

Where in the world do you live?
I live in a smallish town in Hertfordshire – the side of Hertfordshire that is right next door to London so don’t go picturing a quaint little old school town which is where I would live if I had my wish! We both still have to commute into London so it was important to not move too far out when we eventually bought our house! One day I’ll get my quaint village though!

What’s your favourite blog?
This is possibly the hardest question of all because there are so many amazing bloggers out there. One that I am a massive fan of is Big Trouble in Little Nappies. Firstly, because the name of her blog is fab and secondly because I love the humour she brings out in her posts. She is a brilliant writer and I love reading any post that she writes.

What was the last lie you told?
I definitely tell little porkies to Zach now and then but when I last felt guilty telling a porky was on his second birthday. I told the farm we went to that he was under two (technically he was at that time of the day as he was born in the afternoon!), as I wasn’t willing to pay for him when the previous day he would have been free!

What flavour is your perfect pizza?
I am so boring when it comes to pizza dna my absolute favourite is Ham and Mushroom! It has to Pizza Hut ham and mushroom though. Just talking about it makes me want to eat it right now!

What were you doing exactly 1 hour ago?
Sitting at my desk feeling really sick and wondering why. Turns out my breakfast wasn’t sufficient enough this morning and two mugs of tea and two chocolate chip cookies have helped make me feel a little better – thank goodness it’s almost lunch time!

What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep?
I don’t actually know the answer to this. I know sleep was lacking when Zach was tiny but I definitely got some and he always tended to wake when I was already asleep. So then it must have been the time I was up partying until 5am! That was years ago now! I am someone that has always and will always love and need their sleep!

11 facts about myself

I went to the same school as David Beckham.
I still have the hundreds of badges that I collected as a child – I just can’t get rid of them!
I used to be quite good at gymnastics and can still throw a mean cartwheel!
I had laser eye surgery the day before the royal wedding and so I couldn’t watch the main event!
I have taken part in one 5k run, two 10k runs and a 20 mile walk all for charity. I now have terribly weak ankles!
My c-section was scheduled for the day before my sister and nephew’s birthdays. My sister gave birth naturally on her birthday 12 years ago and there was a moment when they’d had 3 cancellations that I thought I might have Zach on the same day! It’s an interesting, hectic weekend now celebrating three birthdays!
Before I had Zach, I used to volunteer every Sunday at a stables for the disabled. It was amazing and I miss it very much!
I have two tattoos, one on my back and one on my foot.
I have been a bridesmaid three times but never yet a bride!
I bake a mean cake and have successfully dealt with the stresses of making Zach’s first and second birthday cake!
I nearly died when I was a baby when I decided to stop breathing! A very nice man that my Dad worked with brought me back to life
