Mummascribbles – When we found out we were pregnant – Mummascribbles
I wrote this post on the evening that we found out we were expecting baby number two!
It’s 21.20 on Sunday 10th January 2016 and I’m tucked up in bed because I am exhausted. At 4.30am this morning I was woken up by the little munchkin who I managed to get back off to sleep at 5am. At that point, I needed a wee but I also needed to do a pregnancy test with the first wee of the morning. So at 5.05am I found myself peeing on a stick. That stick told me what I thought I knew, confirming that I was 2-3 weeks pregnant.
Even though I was expecting it, I was still a bit shocked. There was every chance that my body was playing tricks on me by giving me sore boobs and nausea along with cramping type period feelings. But it was the boobs that gave it away when my other half told me that the last time he’d seen them looking like that was when I was pregnant with Zach! So at 5.10am this morning with that exciting news, I couldn’t get back to sleep! The other half was laying next to me telling me all about his super sperm as it was only our first month of trying (I’ve made a note to be very very careful in the future!).
So here I am, pregnant. I still feel like it’s a bit of a dream. I keep forgetting and then suddenly remembering that I have a little poppy seed shaped embryo growing in my tummy. I am praying for a healthy pregnancy. A much wanted brother or sister for Zach. One that will most likely share his birth month (oops!). I am praying that when we tell Zach, he is still as interested in babies as he is now. He pretends he has one in his tummy and has several times said to me today that I have one in mine (he doesn’t know, it’s just a new fascination!).
Fingers crossed that if all goes well, in september we will be the family of four that I’ve been dreaming of. The start of a new chapter in our lives together. Exciting. Scary. Amazing.
