I never really find myself settling into a certain range of beauty products. Usually I go for whatever is on offer in Boots because I have quite good skin and so the general range of creams available will suffice. That, and I love a bargain!

Just recently though, I have noticed that my skin is changing a bit. I am not particularly happy about it because I know that it is down to age. I have started to notice a few more lines, a tiny bit of sagging (gulp), and a general dullness to the skin on my face. And so I decided to put a bit more effort in and have a good look at what I was buying. I didn’t just pick up what was on offer, I researched a bit more and bought a range of products. Some of which I have used before and some of which have been new. And I am so happy with all of them that I had to share them with you!

Make up removing/cleansing

I have two products on the go for this. The first I actually bought by mistake but it turns out that it is brilliant for when I am feeling lazy (so most nights). It’s the Soap & Glory Total Drama Clean Make Up Remover.

Smother a cotton wool square with it, wipe it over the face, and off comes the make up. It really is that easy – and it is really good at taking mascara off too. Quite often products don’t melt it enough and you end up going to bed with panda eyes, but this works a treat. It also leaves my face feeling really fresh afterwards – no weird tingly sensations or anything like that. Just a super clean face 🙂

Cleanser wise, I use the Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean Deep Cleansing Milk. I have been using this for years and I just love it. At night, I usually rub a load of it on my face, grab a couple of wet cotton wool squares, wipe it off and then splash my face with nice warm water afterwards. I can’t explain the lush feeling afterwards! And in the morning, I rub it over my face whilst in the shower and just wash it off. It leaves my face really smooth and smells divine!

Day moisturiser

A good few years back, I didn’t really understand why we had day and night moisturisers. Over the years though, I realised that they are there to do very different things and because of that, they have very different textures. With a day moisturiser, you want it to be light and airy, especially if you are putting make up on top of it. I have been using the Soap & Glory Speed Plump All-Day Super Moisture Marvel for a few weeks now. It’s aimed at dry/dehydrated skin, which mine very much is because I very naughtily don’t drink enough water! This moisturiser has been perfect at making my skin look much more rejuvenated throughout the day, I don’t have any dry skin patches like I sometimes used to get, and my make up goes on top of it really nicely. It’s got a real silky feeling to it and I love the feel of my skin once I’ve applied it after my shower.

Night moisturiser

This is where the magic happens right? Whilst we are sleeping, all of the ingredients are working away at rejuvenating our skin. That’s what is supposed to happen anyway, although I have never actually really noticed a difference. The texture has always been thicker – you know you are wearing the cream, but I never woke up and went wow, that really did do something last night.

Up until now…

I have been using the Soap & Glory Super-Hydrating Speed Plump Overnight Miracle Moisture Mousse (with airmazing bubble-boost technology). I honestly didn’t expect this to be half as good as it is. It is AMAZING. I pop it on at night, just before I go to bed and immediately my skin feels lush. Because it’s a mousse, it is really light and it doesn’t feel like you are going to bed caked in cream. But what it does while I sleep…well, whatever it is, it’s incredible. The first morning I woke up and I looked like a different morning me. Usually I am pale as anything and first thing in the morning (after a lot of disturbed sleep), I look washed out. But that first morning, I looked bloody radiant! And I have done every morning since! It is the thing of wonders and I am so happy that I bought it 🙂

Eye cream

The final product in my beauty regime at the moment is…wait for it…not Soap & Glory haha! Nope, it is Clinique All About Eyes. I saw it recommended by another blogger (and can’t for the life of me remember who it was), and ummed and ahhhed for ages as to whether to buy it or not. It is pretty expensive (the cheapest is about £23 and rises depending on where you are buying it), but with the recommendation, the rave reviews on the internet, and my eyes being the biggest thing I can see a change to, I decided to go ahead and purchase it. And I haven’t regretted it from the moment I put it on. It instantly works. It has reduced my lines, improved the one bit of slightly sagging eyelid, reduced the puff, makes my eyes look more radiant, and also makes me look like I have had a lot more sleep than I have had! I am so blooming glad that I paid attention to all of the recommendations as I will be buying this forever more!

And that is my current list of products that feature in my beauty regime on a daily basis. I have discovered that I absolutely love Soap & Glory (to be fair, I always have but these products are different and better to the previous ones I used to buy), and the eye cream is an absolute winner. I think it’s important for me to get my skincare right now. I am going to be 36 this year and so it’s probably the most important time to start really paying attention to what works and doesn’t work for my skin. That’s not to say that over the years, my skin won’t change even more and that different products will be better at sorting it out, but for now? These beauties are what I will be sticking with 🙂
