Our weekend happy – classes, soft play, and a cuppa with Mum! – Mummascribbles
Oscar tried to get me up at 5.30am but I had a way out of that – the revelation that if he got up that early, there was no way he would be able to survive the afternoon soft play trip that we had planned! So he fell back to sleep until 7.10am – result!
When we got up, it was all systems go to get ready for swimming. The other half even managed to get ready, so we all headed on up there which was nice, as he so often misses the classes. The boys had a great lesson and we popped to the cafe afterwards and had a snack and chat with our swimming buds! We then dashed home so that I could get Zach’s bits for performing arts and he and I were very quickly back out the door and on our way there.
When I got home, the dog was desperate to go out, so I grabbed my coat and his lead and took him on a nice long walk over the Country park while the other half was busy playing with Oscar. It was a lush walk and Buster was well and truly knackered by the end of it!

I returned and the other half was in the garden trying to sort out some of the dog’s destruction. But we won’t talk about that!
He was going to pop to the shops to grab lunch for us but then it was a bit late, so I decided that I would grab lunch when I took the boys to soft play. The other half popped to the shops anyway because he still needed lunch and he was home just before I needed to go back out. He had decided to have some down time and stay home, so Oscar and I jumped in the car, went and picked up Zach, and then we drove round the corner to the soft play venue.
It was pretty busy but I managed to find a table tucked right at the back where I spent two and a half hours! The boys had a pizza and chips each and I had an egg mayo baguette, and they just had the best time. I haven’t seen them play like that for a while, they stuck together and made each other squeal with delight! Oscar then begged me to go in and I had to go round six times and have him on my lap on the slide because it was apparently so much more fun.

After a long time in there, Oscar got hurt in a little accident and I decided time was up. Which was actually only about ten minutes before they were closing for a private party. There weren’t really any arguments and the boys left nicely thank goodness.
When we got home, the other half was just finishing up a computer game and we decided that since we all had lunch rather late, we would switch our dinner plans around which meant we had some time before we needed to cook. I took the dog out for a walk, and then when I got back, the other half started dinner and I sat with the boys. Then it was dinner and bed for the boys and then the other half played more computer games while I watched Saturday night TV!
Sunday 26th January
It would have been nice if I hadn’t been dragged out of bed by the boys at 6.30am but alas, that happened! It meant that I got into the shower nice and early and I took the dog for a walk before I then took Oscar to football. Zach stayed at home with the other half, and they popped to the shops and then played some games at home.

Once we got back, it was an early lunch for me, and then I took Buster to his dog training class. He did some fab recall which made me very happy! After the class, I decided that I fancied a bit of a girlie chat, and so I called my Mum to see if she was home for me to pop in for a cuppa. She was indeed home and so I was there within minutes! I of course ended up staying longer than planned but it was really therapeutic to just sit and chat with no kids around! It got to about 3pm and I figured I had better head off home, so Buster and I said our goodbyes and got in the car. And of course, it decided to rain the whole way home!
When I got back, chaos ensued and the kids went wild. And it didn’t really stop! They had been busy playing with play doh, I made them a requested hot chocolate, and then it was pretty much straight into the kitchen to cook a lasagne, and then when it was in the oven, I took the dog for another little walk, leaving Zach practising the songs from his new performing arts script. And when I was back, dinner was ready, so we ate, bathed the boys and popped them to bed before sitting down for another night doing the usual!

The weekend went so fast but it was really nice and the boys seemed to have lots of fun!
