Living Arrows 2021 – Week 12 – Mummascribbles
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Last week was a full on home school week for us. We had found out on the Sunday night that the Year 3 bubble had burst and Zach needed to self isolate and couldn’t return until the following Tuesday. The Monday was very much a do what you can on Times Tables Rockstars and Spelling Shed while his teachers recorded video lessons for the rest of the week! And then from Tuesday onwards, we had a morning zoom call, three recorded videos and quite a bit of work to do each day. And boy was it a struggle. Zach had loved his first week at his new school and was gutted that he already couldn’t go in. So he really wasn’t up for more learning at home so quickly. I didn’t favour it much either!
One of his favourite parts of the week though, was during his PSHE lesson when he was helping his teacher make healthy choices and she had the kids up doing some exercises. Honestly, there weren’t a huge amount of smiles from him last week but this moment was one of them and so I had to feature it as my photo of Zach this week.

Poor Oscar was pretty ignored during the week because I had to put so much focus onto getting Zach to do his work. He had a lot of iPad time, a lot of TV time – just a lot of time on his own bless him. Sometimes though, he is quite happy to just sit and play with bits. It could be bouncy balls, it could be cars – but on this particular day, it was simply placing all of his farm animals (and a few creepy crawlies) around him. He looked so cute setting it all up and I wanted to eat him!

Like I say, it wasn’t an easy week, especially for poor Oscar, but we got through it and back to school was hugely welcome when it arrived! Even if it is only for a few days before the break up for Easter!
