Mummascribbles – Mummascribbles meets Living Life Our Way – Mummascribbles
This week we meet the lovely Katie from Living Life Our Way. Thanks so much for taking part Katie 🙂

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family
I’m Katie, and my daughter is affectionately nicknamed ‘Squiggle’. We live in Hertfordshire, just outside of London, with our furbabies. I grew up here with my younger brother from the age of 4 and stuck around to raise my daughter here because I love it so much!
What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do), or blogging?
When I’m not parenting or blogging I enjoy socialising with friends and going to gigs- I absolutely love live music! I’m also quite partial to tv reality shows – my guilty pleasure!Â
What is your biggest achievement to date?
My biggest achievement to date is sort of getting a 1st degree in teaching, yet at the same time I’m quite proud of myself for now going against the grain by leaving the system in order to home ed my daughter, because it meets her personal needs better! So that’s a tough one to answer!Â
From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?
The easiest part of parenting? Is it ever easy?! Seriously though, I think parenting is constantly both the easiest and hardest thing in the world simultaneously to be honest!Â
Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?
I find the best way to juggle everything, is to stop trying to juggle everything all the time! I prioritise- and let unimportant things slip when I can, don’t sweat the small stuff, scale back when needed… that kind of thing! My advice is don’t be afraid to say no, and ask for help when you need it! Keep things as simple as possible.Â
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I’m not really sure why I started blogging initially, I just felt inspired to share my story as a new parent. Then I stopped and started a few times, just dipping in and out of it as a hobby for a few years, especially sharing our home ed adventures when we made the decision to do go down that route! I started blogging more regularly and registered self- employed a few months ago now because I love blogging and want to get my teeth into it properly!
Tell me a bit about your blog
My blog, Living Life Our Way, is a lifestyle blog about our family life and home education. There is a strong focus on nature and the outdoors, including green living, because we spend alot of time outside and that is where our main interests are. Lots of educational ideas, activities and resources, days out etc…!Â
What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?
My aim is to inspire others, and to write about stuff other people enjoy reading!
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
If you’re thinking about starting a blog, assuming you love writing, go for it! Find a support network, find your niche and write about what you love!Â
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
If I could have dinner with three people it would be my mum, because I would love to speak to her about me as a child and parenting etc… Maybe my nan too, partly for the same reason, but mostly because it would be interesting to hear their opinions on parenting and stories of childhoods both together lol! And for the last person, I’d have to go for someone famous definitely! Hmmm… I’ll get back to you on that!
Tell me three random facts about you
1. I have a scar across my forehead from when I was 4 years old.
2. I CANNOT ride escalators, weirdest fear ever.
3. I worked in Tenerife as a bar PR rep when I was 18.
